Position Purpose:
This position reports to the Functional Leader and in larger locations works cooperatively and under the leadership of the Environmental, Health & Safety Manager.
This positionis responsible for the implementation and maintenance of a comprehensive Environmental, Health and Safety Management System for a local plant site or regional geographical area.
This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with all federal, state and local regulations and standards regarding safety, health and the environment.
This position assures adherence to the Woodward Global EHS strategies and supports risk reduction and operational productivity enhancement.
In some locations, the primary focus for this position is in the areas of safety and health.

Essential Functions:
Responsible for implementing, managing and maintaining EHS programs, procedures, practices and training for the site(s) as determined.
Ensures compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations and standards as promulgated by all local, state and federal agencies through development and implementation of on-site inspection and monitoring programs/processes.
Establishes and implements short and long range functional goals, objectives, policies and operating procedures; monitors and evaluates program effectiveness; effects changes necessary for improvement.
Coordinates the activities of the Site Safety Committee and serves as the technical resource expert.
Consults, advises and works collaboratively with site leadership regarding issues, problems, programs, processes and systems in the areas of safety and health.
Keeps current on changing environmental, health (industrial hygiene) and safety laws and regulations (federal, state, local) and advises leadership on their impact (or potential) to the business operations.
Promotes effective communication programs to enhance and encourage member awareness of health, safety, and environmental compliance.
Assists in the establishment of budgets and targets for health, safety and environmental activities with support from facilities, operations and commercial business functions.
Assists in the development and maintenance of effective relations with government agencies and our communities.
Other Functions:
May represent the Company as primary contact with worker's compensation and property and loss carriers.
Coordinates on-site visits as required.
In some locations and upon request, may work on environmental issues under the guidance of the EHS Manager.
In some locations, may also perform the training coordinator function forone or more groups.
Materials and Equipment Used:
Standard office equipment; various industrial hygiene test instruments.
Working Environment / Physical Activities:
General Office Area May be required to travel on Company business, including travel between plants.
Working environment includes building and grounds of facilities Chemical/hazardous materials areas Activities associated with environmental monitoring and hazardous waste management On call to assist with activities related to safety, environmental and DOT
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Basic level of knowledge and experience with environmental, safety and health issues in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to assess and evaluate environmental, health and safety exposures and risks Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with colleagues who possess varying degrees of EHS subject matter knowledge Education or Formal Training:
Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety, Health and/or Environmental Science, Hazardous Materials Technology or other related field preferred; may substitute appropriate work experience for education.
Related manufacturing and operations training is helpful.
Experience Required:
Minimum 3 years experience in Occupational Safety and/or Environmental in a manufacturing environment or other relevant/applicable industry or agency.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
